Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalised Mid-Performance During Moulin Rouge Broadway Debut

Megan Thee Stallion is hospitalised after falling ill mid-performance, forcing abrupt halt to Moulin Rouge Broadway show in New York.

Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night after falling ill midway through her performance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York, cutting short what had been a highly anticipated stage appearance.

The rapper, who recently made her Broadway debut, later revealed the severity of the moment, saying she struggled to continue performing despite warning signs from her body.

“I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t,” she wrote on social media the following day. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me.”

Her representatives confirmed that she was taken to a New York hospital after she “started feeling very ill” during the show. Medical evaluations later determined that she was suffering from extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels.

Following treatment, she was discharged and is currently resting, according to her team, who added that she is “incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters.”

Despite the health scare, Megan assured fans that the disruption would be short-lived, confirming plans to return to the stage.

“I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve,” she said.

The 31-year-old, whose real name is Megan Pete, began her Broadway run on 24 March, taking on the role of Harold Zidler, the flamboyant master of ceremonies in the production. Her casting marked a significant crossover from music to theatre, drawing major attention from fans and industry observers alike.

She is scheduled to continue in the role until 17 May, according to the show’s official schedule, with her limited run seen as a major highlight of the current Broadway season.

Zidler is a central character in the production, previously portrayed by Danny Burstein in the original Broadway cast, a performance that earned him a Tony Award in 2020. Earlier this year, the role was also taken on by Bob the Drag Queen for a limited engagement.

Megan Thee Stallion rose to global prominence with chart-topping hits such as “Savage,” “WAP,” and “Body,” and has established herself as one of the most influential figures in contemporary hip-hop.
