Media Mogul Obaigbena Celebrated As He Bags DAME Lifetime Achievement Award

He was lauded for his contribution to free expression in Nigeria.

The 32nd DAME Awards was held in Lagos on Sunday with the Chairman and Editor in Chief of THISDAY-ARISE Media Group, Nduka Obaigbena being honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Obaigbena joined 31 other prominent and distinguished Nigerians who have been honoured with the highest echelon of the awards since its inception. 

According to the organisers, Obaigbena is honoured owing to his contributions to the development of the media landscape and free expression in the country.

Former Managing Director of the Guardian Newspaper and another former Managing Director of the Sun Newspapers, Mike Awoyinfa were also honoured with the DAME Fellowship Awards at an event where journalists were also recognised in 18 other categories. 

Awards were also given out to journalists and media organisations in 18 other categories.
