Manchester United have reportedly made an €80 million (£68m) offer for Real Madrid midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni as they continue their search for a third midfield signing.
The Red Devils have already added Andrey Santos, Karl Darlow, Youri Tielemans and Tynan Thompson this summer, with Santos and Tielemans among the midfield reinforcements targeted by the club.
United had also been interested in Atalanta midfielder; Ederson, but a potential move collapsed after issues during his medical.
Despite being linked with several midfielders, the club are yet to identify a leading target, although Tchouameni has emerged as a preferred option due to his ability to operate in a defensive midfield role.
Reports in Spain claim United have submitted an offer for the France international, with Real Madrid now assessing the sporting and financial implications of a possible departure.
Tchouameni, who has two years remaining on his contract, remains an important part of Madrid’s midfield options, meaning any agreement would depend on whether the Spanish club can secure a suitable replacement.
United are seeking a midfielder capable of playing in front of the defence following Casemiro’s departure and injury concerns within the squad.
