Late Drama As Nigeria Draw 2-2 With Jordan In Fiery Friendly Clash

Nigeria and Jordan settled for a 2-2 draw after late drama, including a goal and a red card.

Nigeria were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by Jordan in an international friendly that ended in chaotic fashion, featuring a late equaliser, multiple bookings, and a red card in stoppage time.

Jordan struck late in the 78th minute through Mohammad Al Daoud, whose clinical finish from the centre of the box secured a share of the spoils after Nigeria had earlier taken control of the contest.

The closing stages turned heated as tensions boiled over. Alex Iwobi was shown a straight red card in the 93rd minute for violent conduct, while Ademola Lookman and Jordan’s Yazan Al Arab were both booked in the same incident. Moments later, Igoh Ogbu and Amer Jamous also received yellow cards for bad fouls as the match descended into disorder.

Both teams made several substitutions throughout the second half in a bid to gain control, with Nigeria introducing Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi just after the hour mark, while Jordan made a series of changes that ultimately influenced the late equaliser.

Despite Nigeria’s efforts to hold on, Jordan’s persistence paid off, ensuring the match ended level after a fiercely contested encounter that saw seven minutes of added time.
