Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has held separate telephone conversations with his Saudi Arabian and Omani counterparts, focusing on the security of the Strait of Hormuz and efforts to strengthen regional stability.
According to a statement published on Araqchi’s Telegram channel on Tuesday, the discussions covered recent bilateral and regional developments, with the Iranian foreign minister emphasising the importance of closer diplomatic coordination.
The statement said Araqchi called for deeper cooperation and stronger joint diplomatic efforts to preserve regional security and foster long-term stability.
His conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan came after Saudi Arabia announced that it had intercepted drones launched toward the kingdom by Iran-aligned groups operating in Iraq.
The discussions reflect continued diplomatic engagement between Tehran, Riyadh and Muscat as Gulf nations seek to enhance security around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping corridor, while working to address persistent tensions across the region.
