Afrobeats singer Fola has fulfilled a promise to his mother by gifting her a car, completing what he says are the two major things she asked for as his music career progressed.
The singer disclosed this on his social media account on Tuesday, recalling that he had asked his mother what she wanted when things started to improve for him. According to Fola, she requested a church building of her own and a specific car.
“When things started to align, I randomly asked my mother what she wanted and she said she wanted her own church building and this specific car. I thank God for keeping this running long enough for me to say I’ve done both things. ❤️🙏🏾”
Fola had previously spoken about using his early earnings from music to acquire a piece of land in Ibadan for his mother, where she later built a church.
The singer has also recounted his struggles before his music career gained wider recognition, including working as a Bet9ja cashier in Ibadan.
He has credited his mother with encouraging his musical ambitions and believing in his potential during the early stages of his career.
Fola gained wider attention following the release of his song “Alone” and has since worked with artistes including Ayra Starr, Wizkid, BNXN, Zlatan, Victony and DJ Tunez.
He is signed to Dangbana Republik and Empire and released his debut studio album, Catharsis, in September 2025.
The car gift has since generated reactions from fans and followers online, with many commending the singer for fulfilling his mother’s wishes.
The gesture comes as FOLA continues to build on his growing success in the Nigerian music industry.
