At least five people have been killed and 10 others injured after a Ukrainian drone strike hit a warehouse in the Moscow region, Russian authorities said.
Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said an industrial site in Novoselki, Chekhov, about 69km (43 miles) south of the Kremlin, came under attack overnight on Tuesday, triggering a fire at a warehouse.
Seven of the 10 injured people were in moderate condition, while one was seriously injured, Vorobyov said.
The governor did not specify what facility was targeted. However, Ukrainian media reported that the site was linked to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, whose warehouses have been targeted in recent weeks.
Kyiv has alleged that some Wildberries facilities are used to supply the Russian military, a claim Moscow has denied.
Local authorities also reported attacks on Wildberries warehouses in the St Petersburg and Tver regions overnight. The company confirmed that its facility in St Petersburg had been hit but has not publicly commented on the Moscow-region strike.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces intercepted and destroyed 320 Ukrainian drones during the overnight attacks.
The latest strikes came as Russia also launched a series of attacks against Ukrainian cities, killing at least four people and injuring several others.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said an 89-year-old woman was killed and seven people were injured, including two girls aged two and 12, in a Russian strike on the southern port city of Mykolaiv.
In Sumy, a woman and two girls, aged five and 10, were killed when a residential area was struck. Four other people were injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Russian strikes also injured two people in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, while a food warehouse in Dnipro was set on fire, the State Emergency Service said.
