As part of the activities to mark the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the Federal Government has announced plans to honour 250 outstanding Nigerians across various sectors for their exceptional dedication, innovation and patriotism toward nation building.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, disclosed this at the flag-off ceremony for the groundbreaking compendium of 250 top performers in Nigeria to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary in collaboration with Oyana Health Limited.
He described the initiative as a historic and remarkable documentary aimed at celebrating the values of resilience, innovation and patriotism among Nigerians.
“This initiative presents a timely opportunity to reflect, project and celebrate the values of resilience, innovation and innovation that defines the Nigerian spirit,” Akumesaid.
SGF, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Overseeing General Services Office, Mallam Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, said the production of the compendium would serve as the face of Nigeria’s immense human endowments and would also provide vista of opportunities for the youth to aspire for greatness as well as renew our commitment to national unity and nation building.
He stressed that the project would feature government’s key achievements and 11 top performing State Governors, adding it will also feature quiz competition, patriotic songs of hope, innovative/creativity exhibitions and music concert.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, Nadungu Gagare, stressed that the compendium would serve as a historic record and strategy for inspiring talents and promoting credible narratives about Nigeria and recognising excellence in governance.
He added that the compendium will document and celebrate Nigerian’s excellence both at home and across the globe.
