EFCC Uncovers Illegal Industrial Complex In Ogun, Arrests Foreigners, Police Officers

EFCC uncovers an illegal industrial complex housing petroleum, lithium and wood processing plants, a distillery and warehouses in Ogere, Ogun State.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has uncovered and taken custody of a sprawling illegal industrial complex in Ogere, Ogun State, arresting foreign nationals, police officers and other Nigerians.

The discovery was made during an inspection of the facility led by EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.

The complex, reportedly operated by foreign nationals believed to be Chinese citizens, houses a petroleum processing plant, a lithium processing factory, a specialised wood processing facility and a power generation plant.

Other facilities discovered include warehouses stocked with motorcycles, satellite communication equipment and thousands of power banks.

An illegal distillery, where alcoholic spirits were allegedly mass-produced, was also uncovered within the complex.

Addressing journalists during the inspection, Olukoyede said investigations were ongoing but vowed that everyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
