Denmark’s defence intelligence service has warned that Russia could intensify its hybrid warfare operations in the coming months, potentially exposing European countries to more frequent and damaging attacks.
The warning was contained in a new threat assessment published on Thursday, amid growing concerns across Europe over suspected Russian sabotage and other covert activities.
According to the assessment, Russia is expected to increase its operations against Western countries and NATO, with targeted nations potentially facing attacks that could become more frequent and have a greater impact.
“The Danish defence intelligence service believes Russia will intensify its hybrid warfare in the coming months, launching more frequent attacks against the West and NATO with greater impact on affected countries than before,” the intelligence service said.
Concerns over hybrid warfare and suspected sabotage have intensified across Europe after Germany accused Russia of orchestrating an attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
The incident has prompted calls within the European Union for stronger measures, including additional sanctions against Moscow.
The Danish warning reflects broader European concerns that Russia could expand its hybrid operations against European countries and NATO members.
