Presley Walker Gerber, the model and only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
A representative for the family confirmed his death, while his family asked for privacy as they mourned his death.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the family said in a statement.
According to a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Gerber died at a rehabilitation facility. An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
Gerber began his modelling career in 2015 with a photoshoot by renowned photographer Bruce Weber.
He later signed with IMG Models and went on to walk at fashion weeks in several cities around the world.
In 2018, Gerber appeared alongside his mother in a Pepsi advertising campaign, further raising his profile in the fashion industry.
Speaking about the rapid rise of his modelling career in a 2023 interview on the Studio 22 podcast, Gerber recalled how quickly his life changed. “My whole life changed within a month and it was just a very profound experience because I had to grow up quickly.”
Gerber also faced legal trouble as a teenager. In 2019, he was arrested for driving under the influence in Beverly Hills.
He was 19 at the time and was later sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to complete a DUI programme.
Gerber was the younger sibling of model and actress Kaia Gerber, who has followed her mother’s path in fashion and entertainment.
Kaia currently plays Susan Reynolds in Ryan Murphy’s The Shards.
