In his acceptance speech, Akpata paid tribute to the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.

“This is a very difficult period in our nation’s history because all of us are aware of what we are going through economically.”

Abure said “Any person that is aggrieved in the party, they go and instigate them to write a petition against us.”

He ssid it’ll be unfair to single out Edo and that turn-by-turn arrangement kills democracy.

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has been chosen as the newChairman.

He said Wike shouldn’t be talking about 2027 elections when Nigerians are suffering hardship and starvation.

He urged the NWC to replace Hope Uzodimma as chairman primary election committee.

This follows a petition by the party’s former Youth Leader, Eragbe Anselm Aphimia.

Ramaphosa said the elections are a celebration of the country’s democratic journey.

“The NWC deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo State Governorship Primary Election has not been completed.”

He called on President Tinubu to concentrate on tackling issues at hand, rather than play the blame game.

The NWC charged delegates, aspirants and the public to note the official date.
