Nigerian content creator Carter Efe has vowed to beat entertainer Speed Darlington in their October 1 celebrity boxing bout, saying comments about singer Burna Boy have fuelled his determination.
Carter made the statement during a heated face-off with Speed ahead of their fight at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Speed was heard telling Carter during the confrontation:
“Na beating I go use beat you.”
Carter responded by questioning why Speed was standing close to a bouncer and challenged him to face him without security.
“Why you dey run follow bouncer? Make bouncer leave the two of us. I wan show you say I be 24-year-old boy.”
Speaking to Hip TV ahead of the bout, Carter also claimed Speed would not be able to expose him, insisting that he is the one who knows people’s secrets.
“Speed Darlington can never expose me. I’m the one with people’s secrets.”
Carter said Speed’s alleged comment about Burna Boy is a major reason he wants to defeat him.
“The major reason I want to beat Speed Darlington is because he called Burna Boy gay. How can he be saying it to a big artiste like that? If I don’t stop him, he’ll say it to Davido too.”
The content creator said he wants the victory to go beyond simply beating Speed Darlington.
“I want to beat Speed to embarrassment.”
The bout, tagged ‘Chaos in the Ring’, is scheduled to take place on October 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
