CAC Introduces Direct Payment Option On Company Registration Portal

The CAC has introduced direct payments on its portal to simplify business registration and related services.

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced a direct payment option on its online portal, allowing users to pay for selected services through ReVOps on its Intelligent Company Registration Portal (iCRP), in a move aimed at improving service delivery and streamlining business registration processes in Nigeria.

The development was disclosed in a statement published on the Commission’s official X handle on Wednesday, where it explained that the new system is designed to simplify payments for a range of corporate filings.

Before this update, payments on the CAC portal were processed through the Remita gateway, which supported multiple channels including debit card transactions, bank transfers, and branch payments.

The Commission said the initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance efficiency and improve user experience across its digital services.

It stated:“The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) wishes to notify its esteemed customers that payments for the following filings can now be conveniently made directly on our portal via ReVOps on the Intelligent Company Registration Portal (iCRP).”

According to the CAC, the services now eligible for direct payment include Annual Returns Filing, Change of Business Address, Cessation of Business, Change of Name, and Change of Objects.

It further listed additional services covered under the new system as Change of Proprietor or Partner details, Certified True Copies, status reports, and Letters of Good Standing.

The introduction of the payment option aligns with the Federal Government’s wider push to digitise public finance systems and improve revenue collection through technology-driven solutions.

The Revenue Optimization and Assurance Project (REV-OP), launched last year, is a key part of this strategy, focusing on strengthening public financial management, blocking revenue leakages, and improving transparency across government agencies.

The initiative is built on three core pillars: transparency, efficiency, and digital transformation, and it enables real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making within government revenue systems.

The development also comes shortly after the CAC conducted maintenance on its online platforms following a cybersecurity incident.

The Commission had temporarily shut down its portal between April 17 and April 20, 2026, after detecting unauthorised access to parts of its systems.

The incident raised concerns about the security and integrity of corporate data, prompting a review and strengthening of its digital infrastructure.

The CAC said the introduction of direct payment is expected to not only enhance user convenience but also support ongoing efforts to improve system efficiency, transparency, and cybersecurity resilience.
