Ben Murray-Bruce, a former Nigerian senator and businessman, has urged Nigerians to support Air Peace on its London route, saying the airline deserves stronger backing from citizens.
He made the appeal in a post on X, where he reacted to what he described as low patronage of the airline despite its operations on the Lagos and Abuja to London route.
He said Nigerians often complain about foreign airlines dominating the aviation sector but still do not use the local carrier flying the same route. In his words: “Only Nigerians can complain that foreign airlines dominate our skies, then refuse to fly the one Nigerian airline flying our flag proudly into London.”
He said the airline entered a difficult international route and has continued to operate it. “Air Peace didn’t wait for permission. They entered one of the toughest routes in the world and disrupted the game.”
He added that passengers flying business class receive transport support on arrival in London at no extra cost.
Murray-Bruce said Nigerians should support the airline as it represents local jobs and shows that Nigerian operators can compete internationally.
