Mikel Arteta has been named the Premier League’s Barclays Manager of the Season after leading Arsenal to their first league title in 22 years.
The Spaniard guided the Gunners to the 2025/26 Premier League crown, clinching the title ahead of Manchester City in the penultimate matchweek. It marks Arteta’s first Manager of the Season award and makes him the first Arsenal manager since Arsène Wenger to receive the honour.
Arsenal’s title-winning campaign was built on the league’s strongest defence, with 19 clean sheets and just 27 goals conceded across 38 matches. The North London side also scored 71 goals, the second-highest total in the division.
At 44 years and 54 days old, Arteta becomes the third-youngest manager to win the Premier League title. He is also the first manager to win the competition with a club he previously represented as a player.
The award was decided through a combination of public votes and a panel of football experts, with Arteta beating fellow nominees Keith Andrews, Michael Carrick, Pep Guardiola, Andoni Iraola and Regis Le Bris.
Arsenal will now turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on Saturday as they chase a historic league and European double.
