During the visit on April 2, 2026, the army chief was received by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, highlighting ongoing collaboration between the military and the state government in addressing insecurity. He also received an operational briefing from the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Folusho Oyinlola, detailing ongoing military operations and joint efforts with other security agencies.
Lieutenant General Shaibu engaged with community leaders and residents, reassuring them of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property. He urged citizens to remain calm, comply with existing curfew measures, and support security agencies with credible information.
In his reaction, Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, John Christopher, commended the intervention, noting that it would help restore public confidence in security operations.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Plateau State Government and other stakeholders to address security challenges and ensure lasting peace across the state.
