Adani Energy Solutions has won an 85 billion-rupee ($880.8 million) interstate power transmission project in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to supply electricity to planned green hydrogen and ammonia projects.
The company said on Friday the project will strengthen the state’s power infrastructure by connecting planned clean energy facilities while supporting rising industrial and digital electricity demand.
As part of the project, Adani Energy Solutions will establish a new substation in the port city of Visakhapatnam (Vizag), a major industrial hub attracting increasing investment in data centres and digital infrastructure.
The transmission network is expected to strengthen grid reliability in the Pendurthi–Vizag corridor, where electricity demand is rising alongside the expansion of data centres and other digital infrastructure.
Chief Executive Officer Kandarp Patel said the project would reinforce the regional power grid, enabling it to meet growing demand from emerging digital infrastructure as well as planned green hydrogen and ammonia projects.
Adani Energy Solutions said the latest contract expands its transmission portfolio as India continues to invest in clean energy and modern power infrastructure to support economic growth.
