Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay dominated the 2026 Emmy Awards, taking 14 trophies from 19 nominations across the Primetime ceremony and Creative Arts Awards.
The horror comedy won Best Comedy Series, with Matthew Rhys taking Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Rhys also made Emmy history by winning the lead acting award for limited series The Beast In Me.
Kate O’Flynn won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, while Stephen Root took Best Supporting Actor for Widow’s Bay.
The series also won awards for writing, with creator Katie Dippold taking the prize, and directing, with Hiro Murai recognised for his work on the show.
HBO’s The Pitt followed with seven wins from a field-leading 25 nominations.
The medical drama won Best Drama Series, while Noah Wyle claimed Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the second consecutive year.
The show nearly doubled its 13 nominations from the previous year.
Apple TV’s Pluribus finished close behind with six wins. Creator Vince Gilligan won for writing, while Rhea Seehorn finally collected an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series after receiving no wins for her work on Gilligan’s Better Call Saul.
In the limited-series categories, DTF St. Louis also collected seven awards.
David Harbour won Best Supporting Actor, while Linda Cardellini took Best Supporting Actress. Creator Steven Conrad won for both directing and writing.
Other winners included Allison Janney, who won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat.
Sally Field won Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for Remarkably Bright Creatures, while Task star Tom Pelphrey won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
The 2026 Emmy ceremony was hosted by Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay.
Hargitay kept the ceremony moving with comedy sketches, musical performances and rapid costume changes.
She also brought Taylor Swift into an SVU-inspired sketch during the ceremony.
