Senator Aliyu Ahmed-Wadada has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Ahmed-Wadada secured victory at the APC governorship primary election conducted in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state, Professor Theodore Maiyaki (SAN), announced the result at the Government House in Lafia.
Maiyaki described the exercise as free, fair and credible.
According to the results declared by the committee, Ahmed-Wadada polled 195,285 votes to defeat his closest rival and former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar-Adamu, who secured 39,675 votes.
The primary election forms part of the ongoing APC nomination process ahead of the 2027 governorship election across the country.
