Unreleased music by Beyoncé and other confidential tour material were stolen from a car in Atlanta days before the singer’s four-night Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city, authorities have confirmed.
According to a police report, hard drives containing unreleased songs, show footage plans, and set lists were taken from a rented Black Jeep Wagoneer used by Beyoncé’s choreographer and one of her dancers on 8 July—just two days before her first Atlanta performance.
Atlanta police stated that an arrest warrant has been issued, although the identity of the suspect has not been made public.
The report indicates that choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue had parked the vehicle outside a food hall and gone inside. Upon returning, they discovered the rear window had been smashed and two suitcases were missing.
They told officers that the vehicle had contained “some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé”, including “five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased music, footage plans for shows past and future, and set list”, the report said.
In addition to the unreleased material, a laptop, designer clothing and Apple AirPods were also reported stolen. Police said they used tracking data from the laptop and the AirPods in an attempt to trace the missing items.
The authorities also dusted the vehicle for evidence and reportedly found “two very light prints”.
It remains unclear whether any of the stolen belongings have been recovered. The BBC has reached out to Beyoncé’s representatives for comment.
The pop superstar is currently in the midst of her Cowboy Carter stadium tour, performing in Atlanta from 10 July through to her final show on Monday night.
Her husband, rapper Jay Z, made a surprise appearance during the third night of her Atlanta performances.
Mr Grant, Beyoncé’s choreographer, has previously worked with major global stars including Shakira, while Mr Blue, the dancer involved in the incident, featured alongside Beyoncé in a 2024 Super Bowl commercial in which she unveiled two singles from the Cowboy Carter album, released later that year.
