Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has nominated the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Jerry Adams, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The nomination marks a departure from the Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the governor in the 2023 governorship election.
Announcing the choice, Governor Sani said the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to “inclusion, justice, fairness and equitable representation” across Kaduna State.
He described Adams, who holds the titles FCTI, FNIM and CNA, as “an accomplished public servant, institution builder and respected tax administrator” whose leadership at KADIRS has helped strengthen the state’s revenue generation capacity.
According to the governor, the nomination aligns with his vision of building “a united, peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State where merit, competence and character remain the foundation of leadership.”
Sani added that the choice of Adams reinforces his belief that every resident of Kaduna should have “a genuine sense of belonging” in the governance of the state.
Adams is expected to bring his experience in public finance and institutional reforms to the administration’s 2027 re-election bid as the governor’s deputy candidate.
