UAE President Reaffirms Commitment To US Partnership During Trump Visit

The UAE is eager to deepen its alliance with US, President Sheikh Mohamed told Trump during his Abu Dhabi visit

The United Arab Emirates has expressed strong interest in deepening its long-standing partnership with the United States, with a renewed focus on fostering peace and regional stability.

This assurance was given by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump on Thursday in Abu Dhabi.

President Trump’s visit to the UAE capital marked the final leg of his tour of Gulf nations, following earlier stops in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. During the bilateral discussions, President Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the positive trajectory of UAE-US relations, stating that the partnership between the two allies had made “a significant leap forward” since Trump assumed office.

Sheikh Mohamed added that the UAE is eager to further cultivate this alliance for mutual benefit.

The UAE’s commitment was underscored by a major economic milestone: a 10-year, $1.4 trillion investment framework in the United States, announced in March. Sheikh Mohamed noted that this investment reflects the UAE’s dedication to strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with Washington.

In a development that signals deeper technological cooperation, both countries have finalised a new framework agreement expected to be signed later the same day. According to a source familiar with the matter, the agreement will potentially allow Abu Dhabi expanded access to advanced artificial intelligence chips developed in the US, aligning with both nations’ shared interest in innovation and strategic defence capabilities.

The meeting between the two leaders reaffirms the UAE’s role as a critical security and economic partner to the United States in the Gulf region, while also setting the stage for broader cooperation in emerging technologies and regional diplomacy.
