Trump Vows US Will Set Up Food Centres in Gaza Amid Starvation Crisis

Trump says US will set up Gaza food centres amid starvation as 14 die of malnutrition.

US President Donald Trump has pledged that the United States will establish food centres in Gaza in response to what he described as “real starvation” in the war-torn enclave.

Speaking during a visit to the United Kingdom, Trump said the humanitarian situation in Gaza had become dire and required immediate intervention.

“There is real starvation happening in Gaza, and we are going to set up food centres there,” he told reporters.

His remarks come as the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza announced that 14 people died of malnutrition in the past 24 hours alone, underscoring the growing desperation among civilians trapped by months of conflict.

Trump also hinted at the existence of “alternative” plans should Hamas fail to release the remaining Israeli hostages. He did not elaborate on what these plans would entail, but emphasised that the US was prepared to act decisively.

In a bid to ease the humanitarian crisis, Israel has begun pausing military operations for 10 hours each day in selected areas of Gaza to allow for aid delivery. Additionally, Israel has permitted humanitarian aid to be air-dropped over the enclave.

Meanwhile, two of Israel’s most prominent human rights organisations have accused the government of committing genocide in Gaza. The groups allege that Israeli military actions and policies have disproportionately targeted civilians and devastated Gaza’s infrastructure. The Israeli government has repeatedly denied all allegations of genocide, maintaining that its operations are aimed solely at dismantling Hamas.
