Trump Set To Propose New Gaza Ceasefire Terms Soon, Aide Says

Trump’s administration is planning to finalise a new agreement soon, aiming to establish a Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The Trump administration is preparing to finalise a new agreement that could pave the way for a Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to a senior US official, Steve Witkoff.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday, Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s special envoy, revealed that the administration is close to issuing a formal term sheet that may serve as the foundation for a temporary truce and, ultimately, a lasting peace deal.

“We are on the precipice of sending out a new term sheet that hopefully will be delivered later on today,” Witkoff said, expressing optimism about reaching both an immediate ceasefire and a long-term resolution to the protracted conflict.

He added, “The president is going to review it. And I have some very good feelings about getting to a long-term resolution, temporary ceasefire and a long-term resolution, a peaceful resolution, of that conflict.”

The announcement was made alongside President Trump, who emphasised that his administration is also focused on delivering humanitarian aid to civilians caught in the conflict.

“We’re dealing with the whole situation in Gaza,” Trump stated. “We’re getting food to the people of Gaza. It’s been a very nasty situation.”

The move marks a significant diplomatic effort by the United States to de-escalate tensions in the region, following months of violence and mounting humanitarian concerns in the Gaza Strip.

While the final details of the agreement remain under wraps, both Trump and Witkoff signalled hope that the proposed framework could offer a much-needed path toward stability and peace in the region.
