The 2.17 trillion Naira supplementary budget, submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the National Assembly has undergone review and approval following outrage expressed by many Nigerians.

On Thursday, Abubakar Bichi, the chairman of the house of representatives committee on appropriations told journalists that the budget of 5billion Naira for the presidential yacht has been transferred to Student loans bringing its total budget to N10 billion Naira.

The feud between former governor of Zamfara state, Bello Mattawale and Dauda Lawal the states governor took another dimension after the states commissioner for Budget and Planning, Abdulmalik Gajam in a trending video, accused the former governor of squandering state resources and diverting pension funds belonging to civil servants for personal use.

The accusation is the latest from Dauda Lawal’s administration against, Bello Matawalle, who Lawal recently accused of embezzling billions of naira through the abandoned Zamfara Airport Cargo Project.

The Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, commissioned the red line overpass bridge in the Yaba area of the state The Overpass Bridge is one of the four new bridges built by the Sanwo-Olu administration on the Red Line rail alignment to eliminate vehicular, pedestrian and train traffic interaction.

The Presidency has flagged off the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, targeting the conversion of one million gas-powered vehicles in Nigeria by 2027 with the unveiling of seven conversion centres across Nigeria including in Lagos and Abuja.

During the launch of the conversion centre in Abuja, Toyin Subair, the Senior Special Assistant to the President domestic, said the initiative will benefit every Nigerian. In Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun this week unveiled the state’s CNG-powered mass transit buses with a promise to implement policies and programmes that will ease the high cost of living in the state.

Inaugurating the CNG buses, the governor explained that the successful conversion of the diesel and petrol engine buses to CNG was another landmark achievement of the current administration in line with its multi-modal transport master plan targeted at reducing cost of transportation across the state to cushion the effects of subsidy removal.
