Tinubu Swears In Bayo Ojulari-led 11-man NNPC Board

President Tinubu has sworn in the new Bayo Ojulari-led NNPC board at the State House in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday formally sworn-in the recently constituted 11-man board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, with Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the President’s office at the State House in Abuja shortly before President Tinubu proceeded to the Banquet Hall to attend the National Summit of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The 11-member board whose members’ appointment took effect from April 2, 2025,
include prominent figures from all geo-political zones, reflecting a strategic blend of industry experience and regional representation.
The appointees include Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu, representing the North West; Yusuf Usman, representing the North East; and Babs Omotowa, a former Managing Director of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), representing the North Central.

Also on the board are Austin Avuru, Non-Executive Director for the South-South; David Ige, representing the South-West; and Henry Obih, representing the South-East.

Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, will serve on the board as the ministry’s representative, while Aminu Said Ahmed will represent the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Top government officials present at the swearing-in included the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.
