Tinubu Rejoices With Olubadan Of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Olakulehin At 90

President Tinubu celebrates Oba Olakulehin at 90, praising his wisdom, service, and leadership in nation-building and community development.

President Bola Tinubu has rejoiced with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), on his 90th birthday on July 5 and the first anniversary of his coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on July 12.

The President, in a release issued by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga stated that the monarch at 90 embodies the rare blend of age-old wisdom, service, and enduring leadership through decades of selfless dedication to nation-building and community development.

President Tinubu joined the people of Ibadanland, the traditional institution, and all well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond in celebrating the remarkable life and legacy of a monarch whose reign has been characterised by wisdom, peace, and unwavering commitment to his people’s progress.

The President described Oba Olakulehin as a foremost traditional ruler, custodian of culture and tradition, and a revered elder statesman who has devoted his life to serving humanity and preserving Yoruba tradition, identity, and values.

“Your Imperial Majesty, Oba Olakulehin, as you mark nine decades of a life well lived in service, sacrifice, and stewardship, and on your first anniversary on the throne of your forefathers, we honour not only your longevity but also your immense contributions to community development and national unity. May your reign be peaceful, prosperous, and impactful,” President Tinubu said.

The President prayef for strength, grace, sound health, and a longer life for Kabiyesi, while his throne continues to symbolise peace, prosperity, and pride for generations to come.

President Tinubu also congratulated the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, on his 55th birthday.

A reformer and respected administrator, Mallam Dikko has dedicated his career to building integrity-driven institutions in Nigerian sports. From his leadership role in revamping the domestic football league to his current role at the helm of the apex sports body, he has demonstrated a rare combination of vision, discipline, and humility.

Under his watch, the National Sports Commission is being reorganised to become a more accountable, dynamic, and performance-driven sports institution that aligns fully with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on youth empowerment, national unity, and economic development.

President Tinubu commended Mallam Dikko for his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s sports ecosystem and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

As the NSC Chairman marks the milestone, the President wished him continued health, strength, and greater accomplishments in service to the nation.
