Tinubu Orders Service Chiefs to Maiduguri, Vows Terrorists ‘Will Be Completely Defeated’

President Tinubu mourns Borno attack victims, orders security chiefs to Maiduguri and vows Nigeria will not succumb to terror.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered Nigeria’s service chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following the recent terrorist attacks, declaring that the country will not succumb to fear.

Reacting to the coordinated explosions that struck parts of Maiduguri on Monday, the President reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to confront and decisively defeat terrorism and other security threats across the country.

Tinubu described the attacks as “desperate acts of evil-minded terrorist groups”, insisting that such incidents represent the last attempts by insurgents under sustained military pressure.

“I want to make it categorically clear that these acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals trying to spread fear,” the President said.

He disclosed that he had directed all service chiefs to immediately move to Maiduguri and take charge of operations on the ground, while also instructing emergency agencies to ensure proper medical care for the injured.

The President expressed condolences to the victims of the attack, sympathising with families who lost loved ones and standing in solidarity with residents of Borno State during what he described as a difficult period.

“The recent news from Maiduguri is profoundly upsetting. I mourn those who lost their lives and sympathise with the injured,” he stated.

Tinubu, however, expressed confidence in the capacity of Nigeria’s armed forces and security agencies, commending troops for repelling attacks on military positions in the state.

He noted that additional military equipment and operational support had already been approved during a recent high-level security meeting, adding that efforts to strengthen security operations were ongoing.

“There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety. We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them,” he said.

Reiterating his message of resilience, the President assured Nigerians that the government remains fully committed to restoring peace and security nationwide.

“Nigeria will not succumb to fear,” he declared.
