Tinubu Orders Free Nationwide Rice Distribution For Ramadan, Lent

Tinubu directs free rice distribution across 36 states and FCT to support Muslims and Christians observing Ramadan and Lent.

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) to distribute rice across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in support of Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lenten seasons.

Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodimma, disclosed the directive in a statement issued at the weekend.

According to Uzodimma, the initiative is aimed at strengthening national unity and demonstrating compassion during a period of deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians.

He explained that the distribution would be coordinated through the nationwide grassroots network of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to ensure that families across Nigeria benefit from the intervention during the fasting period.

Uzodimma noted that the programme reflects the administration’s continued effort to support citizens during important religious and cultural seasons.

He recalled that a similar intervention was carried out during the last Christmas season, when rice was also distributed to assist Nigerians celebrating the festive period.

Both Christian and Muslim communities are expected to benefit from the current nationwide distribution.

Uzodimma said the programme underscores the President’s commitment to inclusivity, solidarity and shared national values.

“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to unity and compassion. Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity and care for one another,” he said.

“Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period.”

The rice distribution will be carried out through the state, local government and ward structures of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to ensure broad coverage and transparency.
