Tinubu Names Ibrahim Babangida’s Son Bank of Agriculture Chairman in Fresh Appointments

Tinubu has appointed IBB’s son, Muhammad Babangida, as Bank of Agriculture Chairman amid major appointments across energy, trade, and research sectors.

President Bola Tinubu has approved a new wave of appointments into key federal agencies including Muhammad Babangida from Niger State, son of former military president Ibrahim Babangida, as chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.

Aged 53, Babangida studied Business Administration and Public Relations in Switzerland and completed an executive governance programme at Harvard Business School.

Also appointed is Lydia Kalat Musa from Kaduna State as Chairperson of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, while Jamilu Wada Aliyu from Kano State will chair the National Educational Research and Development Council.

Another Kano appointee, Yahuza Ado Inuwa, becomes chairman of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria. Still from Kano, Sanusi Musa SAN is named chairman of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution.

From Sokoto State, Professor Al-Mustapha Aliyu is appointed Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa. 

Tomi Somefun from Oyo State is the Managing General of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission.

Sanusi Garba Rikiji from Zamfara State takes over as Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations. And from Kaduna, Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria becomes Executive Director of the Integrated Water Resources Management Commission.
