Tinubu Mourns El-Rufai’s Mother, Describes Her As Remarkable Matriarch

President Tinubu has condoled with Nasir el-Rufai over his mother’s death, describing her as a remarkable woman.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away on Friday in Cairo, Egypt, after an illness.

In a condolence message issued by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the late matriarch as a woman who lived a remarkable life and raised children and grandchildren who have made significant contributions to the nation.

“Nasir, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved mother, Hajiya Umma, which happened today in Cairo. As someone who has also lost a mother, I share in your grief and understand the depth of your loss,” Tinubu said.

He added that losing a mother is a pain unlike any other, expressing hope that memories of her love, wisdom, and guidance would bring comfort in the days ahead.

The President also said he hoped the former governor would find strength in the remarkable life she lived and the values she instilled in her family.

“As firm believers in Allah, we are convinced that she has played her part in this world as laid out for her by the Almighty and has returned to her Maker. I join family, friends, and well-wishers in mourning with you. May Allah grant your dear mother Aljannah Firdaus,” he stated.
