Tinubu Encourages Nigerians Abroad To Return Home, Meets UN Secretary-General António Guterres

He said that he believed in the nation’s potential despite prior leadership “frustrations”.

After over three months in office, President Bola Tinubu has highlighted his unwavering determination as the gateway to his victory in the election.

Tinubu said this while reflecting on the 2023 election campaign during his meeting with Nigerians in the US.

He described  the campaign as “gruesome,” marked by numerous obstacles attempting to thwart his victory.

The president also encouraged Nigerians living abroad to consider returning home, citing his belief in the nation’s potential despite prior leadership “frustrations”

Tinubu also met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York Wednesday evening, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

This is the first meeting between the two leaders since Tinubu assumed office.

The meeting comes a day after the UNGA kicked off with a stern warning from Guterres that the  world is becoming unhinged as geopolitical tensions rise and it seems incapable of coming together to respond to mounting challenges.
