President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her support throughout their years together.
In a birthday message on Monday, Tinubu reflected on their marriage, describing Oluremi as a source of counsel, support and companionship through difficult times. He also highlighted her humanitarian work through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Tinubu said his wife had stood by him through different seasons of his life, adding that she remained someone who understood him and offered honest counsel.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.
The President also praised Oluremi for her compassion, kindness and faith, saying her work had touched young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across Nigeria.
He referenced her involvement with the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative, as well as her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.
“From the New Era Foundation during our years in the saddle in Lagos to the Renewed Hope Initiative today, your care has reached many young boys and girls, widows, elderly citizens, and women farmers across the country,” Tinubu said.
The President said Oluremi’s compassion extended beyond ethnic, regional and religious boundaries, adding that he had witnessed her support for people she had never met.
Tinubu also reflected on the private sacrifices and decisions they had shared throughout their journey, saying laughter and prayer had helped them through difficult periods.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.
The President thanked his wife for the life they had built together and prayed for her continued good health and happiness.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” he said.
Oluremi Tinubu, who previously served as a senator representing Lagos Central, is Nigeria’s current First Lady.
Tinubu ended the message by thanking his wife for the life they had built together and praying that her 66th year would bring her good health, joy and the same happiness she had given to others.
