President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and posted on his official X handle.
The statement said Tinubu’s first destination would be London, United Kingdom, where he would spend part of the vacation.
According to Onanuga, the President is expected to return to Nigeria after the working vacation to join preparations for the January 2027 election.
The statement, dated August 30, 2026, read:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.“His first stop will be London, United Kingdom.
“President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election.”
Onanuga signed the statement in his capacity as Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
