The minority leader of the Nigerian Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, says there is an attempt to introduce into the southeast region incessant killings and assassinations which he says is alien to the region.

Senator Abaribe stated this on Friday when he featured on an ARISE News programme, The Morning Show and notes that the sooner those behind the continuous killings are fished out, the better.

Recently, Mr Abaribe was part of a meeting of lawmakers from the southeast region seeking a political solution to the sit-at-home order in the region and the release of incarcerated Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.

Senator Abaribe says negotiations with federal authorities for Kanu’s release will not be easy.
