The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art hosted the first edition of TASTE! in Lagos, Nigeria.
Taste! is the foundation experience of 24-hours of the #Smithsonian in Lagos. From celebrating and displaying Africanart for a global audience to the restitution of the Benin Bronzes, the Smithsonian seeks to solidify it’s presence as a mainstay in the African Art scene.
For it’s collaboration with Art X, using sound, photography, and food respectively, artists Emeka Ogboh, Iké Udé, and Temitayo Ogunbiyi with chef Renèe Chuks question assumptions concerning culture, geography, and identity.
