Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Egypt 4–2 on penalties at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca on Saturday to secure the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The third-place encounter ended goalless after regulation time, with Nigeria showing greater composure in the ensuing penalty shootout to outclass the Pharaohs.
The victory allowed the Super Eagles to end their AFCON campaign on a positive note, just a day before the tournament final takes place in Rabat.
Nigeria qualified for the third-place match after suffering a narrow semi-final defeat to hosts Morocco, where they were eliminated following a penalty shootout after extra time.
