Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule, has personally donated the sum of N50 million to the Wadada Project, describing the initiative as his own and declaring his personal commitment to seeing Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.
The Governor made the donation in Lafia when he received stakeholders of the Wadada Project at the Government House, Lafia, the state capital.
Sule clarified that the sum was a personal contribution toward the group’s organisational activities and not a disbursement from Nasarawa State Government resources.
The Wadada Project team was led to the Government House by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta.
Announcing the donation, the Governor reaffirmed his ownership of the project and his stake in Senator Wadada’s success.
“If anybody calls it the Wadada project, indeed, this is my project. The reason is because I will be the happiest human being on earth the day that I am handing over the leadership of this state to Wadada,” he said.
He charged the group to work in unity with the Senator Wadada Campaign Council, appealing to leaders within the Wadada Project to set aside personal standing and allow new entrants, including those without titles or public profile, room to contribute meaningfully to the campaign, stressing that the capacity to deliver votes mattered more than public prominence.
“There are people who have electoral value and there are people who have political value. We need the mixture. I don’t want the campaign council of Wadada to place a period to the Wadada Project, or the Wadada Project to place a period to the campaign council. I want both of them to synergise and fuse together so that we will have a very strong group,” he stated.
The Governor charged members of the group to work sincerely and without rancour, assuring them that other stakeholders not physically present, including local government chairmen and members of the State House of Assembly, were similarly engaged in support of the project.
“You that are doing what you are doing, do it sincerely between you and your God. If you do that, you are there,” he said.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and leader of the delegation, Yakubu Kwanta, informed the Governor that the Wadada Project had unveiled a full grassroots structure spanning all 13 local government areas of the state, complete with local government coordinators, development area coordinators, and male and female ward coordinators, describing the initiative as self-sponsored by its stakeholders.
“We have come together and agreed to drive this project and ensure that your voice is not silent. This project is self-sponsored, Your Excellency, by us,” Hon. Kwanta said.
He disclosed that coordinators had already been unveiled across Akwanga, Wamba, Nasarawa Eggon, Keffi, Karu, Nasarawa, Toto, Awe, Kokona, Keana, Obi, Lafia and Doma local government areas.
Hon. Kwanta described Senator Wadada as a candidate with a proven legislative record at the National Assembly, and assured the Governor that the structure would not rest until the transition of leadership was achieved.
“We will not rest until Wadada becomes the governor,” he said.
