Singer Sean Kingston, Mother Arrested Over Fraud And Theft Charges

A company’s allegation against Sean Kingston accusing him of unpaid bills for high-end electronics has resurfaced

Singer Sean Kingston, alongside his mother, was arrested in California shortly after a police raid on his Florida mansion.

In February, allegations against Kingston surfaced when a company accused him of failing to fully pay for a large TV and sound system.

Police in Florida stated that he was apprehended in Fort Irwin, southern California, on charges of fraud and theft under a Florida warrant.

Prior to his arrest, the 34 year-old singer mentioned on social media that his legal representatives were managing the situation.

The raid by Florida police targeted a residence near Fort Lauderdale, where court documents from February listed the singer, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, as a resident.

According to various US media outlets, Kingston’s mother was the first individual arrested.

The raid was confirmed by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office reporting that they executed arrest and search warrants at the property.

The office stated, “As a result of the investigation, an adult female, Janice Turner, was taken into custody on numerous fraud and theft charges. This investigation is active and ongoing.”

Officers were observed removing items from the house. It remained unclear whether the arrests were directly connected to the company’s accusations.

According to Broward police, Sean Kingston’s arrest in southern California occurred “without incident” hours later.

He was scheduled to be in jail in San Bernardino. Kingston and his mother, recognised on Instagram as Mama Kingston, have been requested to provide a response.

Prior to his arrest, he seemed to comment on the developments through his Instagram account.

The singer responded to the report that the arrested woman was his mother, he said, “I am good and so is my mother.”

He further stated, “My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

A lawyer representing both individuals acknowledged that allegations had been leveled against them, saying, “We look forward to addressing these in court and are confident of a successful resolution.”

Ver Ver Entertainment accused Kingston in court documents that he initiated contact with the company via social media in September 2023 to purchase a “232-inch Colossal TV, coupled with a robust sound system.”

The company asserts that the singer persuaded them to proceed with the installation with a minimal down payment by making multiple false claims, including a promise to create promotional videos featuring Justin Bieber.

After the installation, Ver Ver Entertainment claims Kingston failed to fulfill the remaining payments, leading to a lawsuit citing breach of contract and fraud.

An attorney representing Ver Ver Entertainment expressed that the company hoped to recover the items during a police raid on the singer’s residence.

The lawyer said, “We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place, we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

Kingston has made waves with chart-toppers like Beautiful Girls, Fire Burning, and Eenie Meenie featuring Justin Bieber.
