Shakira and Burna Boy released the official music video for their 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai”, featuring cameo appearances from football stars including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
The four-minute visual opened with the footballers taking to the pitch and declaring they were “ready” for Shakira ahead of the tournament.
Directed by Hannah Lux Davis and filmed in Miami, the video began with Shakira standing atop Mexico City’s Angel of Independence monument before transitioning to desert scenes featuring African children dancing alongside her.
Burna Boy later appeared for his verse as Shakira performed atop a glowing globe beneath a star-filled sky.
The video then shifted to a football stadium sequence, where female dancers wore outfits inspired by the flags of countries competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The closing moments featured archive footage from previous World Cup tournaments alongside tributes to football legends including Diego Maradona, Paolo Maldini, Romário, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Kaká.
“Dai Dai” marked Shakira’s second official FIFA World Cup song after the success of Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), released for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup was scheduled to begin on 11 June at Estadio Azteca and conclude on 19 July at MetLife Stadium.
Shakira was also announced as a co-headliner for the World Cup final halftime show alongside Madonna and BTS.
