Sanwo-Olu Urges Lagos APC Members To Embrace E-Registration

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu calls on APC members in Lagos to participate in the party’s ongoing digital registration exercise.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to actively participate in the party’s ongoing electronic registration exercise.

He described the APC e-registration exercise as a civic responsibility and a key requirement for genuine party membership in Lagos State.

The governor also encouraged young people to take advantage of the ongoing APC e-registration exercise to formally identify with the ruling party. He noted that the exercise was open, free, and straightforward.

Speaking after registering at Ward 3, St. Stephen’s Primary School, AdenijiAdele in Lagos Island, on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu said the exercise, scheduled to run throughout the month of January, was aimed at encouraging all existing and new APC members to formally validate their membership through the digital platform.

He said the APC e-registration exercise was being conducted simultaneously across the 245 wards in the state and other parts of the country to digitally capture party members.

He disclosed that the APC e-registration required members to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) for verification, after which personal details would be confirmed and a photograph taken, adding that successful registrants would be issued a printed temporary membership slip upon completion.

“The APC e-registration exercise is what will validate and confirm that you are a card-carrying member of our party. Every party member who truly wants to be called a member of the APC should take it seriously.

“This is the minimum you need to show sincerity and commitment to the party. Nobody is asking for anything—just come, register and collect your slip,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction with the exercise at his ward, noting that initial technical challenges experienced on the first day had been resolved and that the registration was progressing smoothly.

He disclosed that each of the 245 wards in Lagos State was equipped with two tablets, a printer, internet connectivity and a backup power supply to ensure a smooth registration process.

He, therefore, urged party members to create time to carry out the exercise, which, according to him, took only five to ten minutes once the required details were provided.

Sanwo-Olu also disclosed that the digital nature of the exercise reflected APC’s commitment to modernisation and transparency, while strengthening its membership database ahead of future engagements.
