Last week, the minister was reported to have called on security agencies to stay off women, as they should not be allowed to pay tax.

The minister was said to have given the warning at the 4th Annual Forum of the Women, Peace, and Security Sector Reference Group in Abuja.

The special assistant on media to the minister in a statement, clarified that the minister strongly embraces the fact that there is no gender barrier for tax payment and that the minister is a law abiding citizen.

In a video now making rounds on social media, the minister called on security agencies to protect women that are part of the Tricycle transport scheme called the Pink Riders from the task force insisting that no woman would pay levies to any task force.
