Four Suspected bandits again on Sunday abducted one person at Eruku town in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state.
Already, the fresh attack in the town has caused tension among the residents of the town.
The incident happened a week after the release of 38 victims who were earlier kidnapped in a church in the community.
The bandits it was gathered were said to be four in numbers and stormed a farm in the town that located along the road leading to Koro., a community said to be boundary town between Kogi and Ekiti state.
The attackers according to sources close to the town were said to be
armed with cutlasses and AK-47 rifles.
Sources added that, the suspected bandits were said to have invaded the farmland and kidnapped a man identified as Annas Aasanru, a native of Eruku, before escaping into the bush.
A community leader, who spoke with journalists in Ilorin on Sunday on the condition of anonymity stated that, “the attackers suspected to be Fulani/Bororo men numbering about four stormed a farm along the road leading to Koro community, a boundary town between Kogi and Ekiti states”.
He said, ‘the assailants were armed with cutlasses and AK-47 rifles, invaded the farmland and kidnapped a man identified as Annas Aasanru, a native of Eruku, before escaping into the bush.
Contacted, a senior police officer at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ekiti local government area of the state who sought anonymity confirmed the fresh attack.
She however said that, “We are working round to rescue the victim and ensure law and order in the local government”.
