A Groups has condemned calls for the sack of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, concerning connection to the 438 million Naira contract, awarded by the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu to a company he co-founded and is a significant shareholder.

The group argues that the Minister has shown enough evidence that he is innocent of the allegations and should be allowed to continue his innovations in the Ministry of Interior. The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections,Peter Obi, has called for everyone culpable in the Betta Edu scandal to be brought to book.

Peter Obi in a post on X, said Betta Edu’s suspension is a welcome development and called for a comprehensive investigation.

Federal government owned television station NTA on Wednesday announced that it will broadcast live, all 52 games of the forthcoming African Cup of Nations. Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola on Wednesday, donated a whopping N1 billion Naira, to the Lagos security trust fund, which was established in 2007, to equip the security agencies operating within Lagos.

The billionaire businessman was represented by his daughter, musician Tolani Otedola who announced the donation during a visit to the lagos state Governor; Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Tolani shared her father’s wish for the fund which is to encourage other lagosians to contribute to the fund for a safer lagos.
