Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Dr Gbemisola Titilayo Odusote on her appointment as the Director General of the Nigerian Law School by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The governor also thanked President Tinubu for finding the Ado-Ekiti-born lawyer, scholar and administrator worthy of the appointment, describing the elevation as historic, as it makes Dr Odusote the first woman to occupy the position.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji said he had absolute confidence in Dr Odusote’s ability to excel in her new role, given her impressive record in previous assignments.
He described the new Director General as a distinguished scholar and seasoned administrator with proven integrity and notable accomplishments in academia.
Oyebanji urged Dr Odusote to bring her wealth of experience and expertise to bear in leading the Nigerian Law School, particularly at a critical period for legal education and professional training in the country.
The governor further encouraged her to continue to uphold the virtues of integrity, dedication, loyalty, courage and excellence, noting that these qualities—commonly associated with Ekiti indigenes—have shaped her career progression.
He assured the new Director General of the support of the Ekiti State Government and its people as she assumes office.
“Hearty congratulations to another daughter of the Land of Honour, Dr Gbemisola Titilayo Odusote, on her elevation as Director General of the Nigerian Law School. The Government and good people of Ekiti State wish her success and God’s guidance in the new assignment,” the statement read.
“Our special thanks to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for finding her deserving of the elevation. Dr Odusote’s appointment is further evidence of the President’s ability to identify and appoint talented and competent hands to strategic positions,” it added.
