Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has reached a historic milestone with her film Oversabi Aunty, which has crossed the ₦1 billion mark at the box office, becoming the first Nollywood directorial debut to achieve the feat and the fourth highest grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The achievement was announced by the film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, which confirmed that Oversabi Aunty has generated ₦1,017,201,953 from cinemas across West Africa, with screenings ongoing in Nigeria and select cinemas in the United Kingdom, and planned releases in the United States and Canada.

Oversabi Aunty marks Abraham’s first directorial project on the big screen and has continued to draw audiences weeks after its release. The film’s commercial success places it among Nollywood’s elite box office performers in the West African market.
The record also reflects Nollywood’s growing cinema culture, where locally produced films increasingly compete with international releases for audience attention and revenue.
With expansion plans already in motion for North America, Oversabi Aunty is expected to further extend its box office run as it opens to Nigerian and African audiences in the United States and Canada.
