ARISE News Channel will on Tuesday, August 11, host a special town hall bringing together leading candidates in the 2026 Osun State governorship election to discuss their plans for the state before a representative audience.
The event, themed “2026 Governorship Election: The Battle for Osun State,” is scheduled to hold at the Aurora Conference & Events Center, Ring Road, Osogbo, Osun State.
The town hall, which is supported by the Tribune Newspaper Editorial Board, will be broadcast live from 11:00 a.m. and is designed to provide a platform for the candidates to engage voters directly on critical issues affecting Osun State and outline their programmes ahead of the August 15 election.
In an effort to broaden access to the debate and reach voters across the state, the programme will also be live-streamed in Yoruba on the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC).
According to the invitation released by ARISE News, three candidates have so far been confirmed for the event.
They are Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Dr Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The forum is expected to give the candidates an opportunity to present their policy positions, defend their records and proposals, and respond to issues of concern to residents as voters prepare to elect the state’s next governor.
ARISE News described the programme as a special televised forum bringing the leading governorship candidates together with a representative audience drawn from across Osun State.
Beyond the live Yoruba coverage on OSBC, the town hall will be available through ARISE News’ television and digital platforms and broadcast across its international reach in the Middle East, Europe and 54 African countries.
The collaboration with the Tribune Newspaper Editorial Board and the Yoruba-language transmission on OSBC are expected to broaden the reach of the town hall and give a wider section of the Osun electorate access to the candidates and their positions ahead of the poll.
Attendance at the physical event is strictly by invitation, with accreditation, arrival, security and seating details to be communicated to confirmed guests.
