Olufemi Soneye has formally stepped aside from his role as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, citing a need to devote more time to his family and personal responsibilities.
In a statement released on Saturday, Soneye expressed deep gratitude for the support and collaboration he received during his 20-month tenure at the helm of the national energy company’s communications operations.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you all for the unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine commitment you’ve shown in helping to shape and amplify the NNPC Ltd story,” he wrote.
Reflecting on his time in office, he described it as a “profound honour” to serve the company and the country, and to contribute to the transformation journey of NNPC.
He added, “I am deeply grateful for the trust reposed in me, the opportunities granted, and the incredible professionals both within and outside the organisation with whom I have worked.”
Soneye reaffirmed his continued loyalty to the NNPC brand, stating, “I remain a steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd wherever I go.”
He urged media professionals and colleagues to continue offering “robust, balanced, and constructive reportage in support of the Company’s noble mission and strategic role in Nigeria’s energy future.”
No replacement has yet been officially announced.
