Odumodublvck: Police Probe Assault Allegation Against Rapper After Chocolate City Petition

Police investigate assault allegations against Odumodublvck following Chocolate City’s petition over Rhythm Unplugged concert incident.

The Nigeria Police Force has begun investigations into an alleged assault involving rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, following a complaint filed by music management company, Chocolate City.

The case, which was initially reported at the Bar Beach Police Station, was later taken over by the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force. Chocolate City said the incident occurred at the backstage area of the Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos and stemmed from a lingering disagreement between the rapper and the record label.

In a statement, the company alleged that the incident had gone beyond a disagreement and “had devolved into a sustained campaign of harassment, stalking, and physical violence that now endangers our entire team.”

According to Chocolate City, the incident occurred in the early hours of December 22, 2025. The statement read, “In the early hours of December 22, 2025, at the backstage area of the Rhythm Unplugged Concert, Tochukwu physically assaulted our staff member, Feyi Ajayi, while he was there with another of our artists.”

The label further alleged that eyewitnesses reported that Odumodublvck approached Ajayi, made threats against Chocolate City and its leadership, and assaulted him. The statement said, “According to multiple eyewitnesses, Tochukwu approached Mr. Ajayi, made threatening statements about Chocolate City and its leadership, and then headbutted him without provocation.”

Chocolate City also claimed that when a bodyguard intervened, the situation escalated further. “When our artist’s bodyguard intervened, he and his associates poured drinks on Mr. Ajayi while shouting expletives about Chocolate City and its executives,” the statement added.

The company disclosed that the injured staff member is currently receiving medical care. “Mr. Ajayi is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the assault. While he is responding well to treatment, the severity of the attack required immediate medical attention,” it said.

The record label described the alleged assault as part of a broader pattern of violent conduct, listing several incidents dating back to 2024 involving its artists and executives. These include alleged physical attacks, threats, stalking, cyberbullying and intimidation across different locations in Nigeria and abroad.

Chocolate City maintained that the matter has been formally escalated to security agencies. “As a law-abiding organization, Chocolate City has escalated this matter to the relevant authorities,” the statement said, adding that it would pursue all legal options available.

The company also issued a wider call to stakeholders in the entertainment industry, urging collective action against violence. “Rap beefs are part of hip-hop culture. Physical violence, stalking, spitting on women, threats with weapons, and maligning well-meaning people are not,” the statement said.

The matter has been escalated to the relevant police authorities, while investigations are ongoing.
